Written by English playwright Michael Frayne, Noises Off is called the funniest farce ever written and presents a manic menagerie as a cast of itinerant actors rehearsing a theatre flop called "Nothing's On." On and offstage intrigue and an errant herring all figure in the plot of this hilarious and classical comedy.

"The most dexterously realized comedy ever about putting on a comedy. A spectacularly funny, peerless backstage farce. This dizzy, well-known romp is festival of delirium." - The New York Times

"Bumper car brilliance [...] If laughter is indeed the best medicine, Noises Off is worth its weight in Cipro." - New York Daily News

Who Should See It?

This show does contain some mature themes.

  • Themes: loyalty, friendships, frailty of the human condition

  • Language/Sexual Innuendo:  Strong language including variant uses of the word “damn,” “ass,” “shit,” and “fuck.” Subject matter is sexual innuendo and adult humor.  Men and women stage kiss and wear provocative costumes, including underwear in one entire act. No nudity.

  • Smoking/Drinking/Drug Use: Negligible:  Characters occasionally drink alcohol and stage smoke.

  • Violence: Slapstick

Recommended Audiences: If you enjoy farcical, slapstick modern works and with strong humor presented in a comedic style similar to Benny Hill, this is a show not to miss. Material is not suitable for ages 17 and below due to language and adult themes and humor.  Parental guidance is always recommended
