To cultivate a space where people connect, transform, and thrive – on stage and in the world.

To be Houston’s most welcoming and inclusive destination for exceptional theatre productions and arts education.

  • Belonging – We are a welcoming place.

  • Respect – Each other, resources, and time.

  • Integrity – Do the right thing every time.

  • Excellence – If you’re going to do it, do it well.

  • Fun – It's called a “play” for a reason!

People are Saying...

We had been subscribers to The Alley for many years and attendees at Stages, but we decided to see if we could branch out and find some quality stage entertainment in other parts of the city. We have been trying out different venues and were not overly impressed until we found your theater last night. We could not stop talking about it!

-Jay Michaels

I wish I had seen Bonnie and Clyde earlier in its run as I would have come back to see it again - it was as good as what I have seen at the Alley and Theater Under the Stars.

Mainstage Productions

Stageworks Theatre produces original or established theatrical works (dramas, comedies, and musicals) each season which reflect high artistic quality and cultural diversity. We strive to inspire adults, teens, and children by providing a safe and encouraging environment that fosters creativity, respect, personal growth, and character development. We are dedicated to building long-term relationships with our actors, theatre artists, patrons and community by providing exceptional entertainment and professional education.

The Acting Academy at Stageworks

Whether your student is looking for something fun to do, needs some help to develop confidence and courage, or is motivated to develop acting and singing skills, our Acting Academy is a friendly, supportive environment! We offer two types of classes, performance classes and skills classes.  Performance classes end the semester with a show - including costumes, sets and an encouraging audience.  Skills classes help to refine acting, singing or dance skills.  Join us!

It takes a community to put on the production of just one show.  We strive to provide high quality productions that not only entertain, but provide positive experiences for everyone involved.  Whether you're a skilled lighting designer or sound tech, or somebody who would love to help backstage and meet area neighbors, we'd love to meet you.
