Julie Montgomery, Board President
Julie Montgomery serves as the Board President at Stageworks and is a technical talent acquisition leader during the day and is a theatre volunteer by night. Having served in many start-ups and high-growth for-profit businesses in the Information Technology industry, Julie is a chief motivator with broad business experience including human resources, budget management, marketing, and sales. She hold a Bachelors in Business Administration in marketing from the University of Houston.
Her interest in community service began in 2005 as a Girl Scout leader, where she served as the service unit leader for the area. She also served on the board of directors for the IT Service Management Forum (itSMF), where she was recognized as the volunteer of the year, receiving the President's Award in 2011. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors at Stageworks since 2011, and has served as president twice.
She came to the theatre in 2010 when her oldest daughter sparked an interest in theatre in our Acting Academy. Julie stays involved with her entire family now, Michael (artistic director), Kendall (academy student), and Morgan (former academy student).
Energized and motivated by the community of the theatre, she loves meeting the variety of people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and world experiences come together to make a show and learn from one another. She believes that making and attending theatre helps make us all more empathetic and expands our world view, and loves seeing the kids graduate from the academy to become highly articulate and confident contributors to our society.
You've seen her costuming work on stage in Footloose, Oliver!, A Few Good Men, Mamma Mia!, Cabaret, A Christmas Story, Bonnie & Clyde, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, The Producers, The Wizard of Oz, and Monty Python's Spamalot.
