Houston performers - you could be the talent we’re looking for! Whether you’ve been on the stage for years or are stepping onto one for the first time, we invite you to join us. Our environment is supportive, and we encourage you to give it a shot.

Auditions are open to everyone in the community. We don’t pre-cast roles unless specified, and we’re excited to meet new performers! All roles are available to actors of any ethnicity.

On the last Tuesday of every month, Stageworks hosts a local artist showcase for Houston performers. The theme is different each month! Whether you're looking to workshop new material, try something you've always wanted to perform, or just spend more time on stage, these showcases are for you.

We showcase all kinds of talent - Singers, Dancers, Musicians, Actors, Comedians, Poets, Musicians, Pupeteers, and more. We welcome you to come showcase your talent with us!

the complete works of william shakespeare [abridged][revised](again)

Auditions: February 2026

This show features all 38 of Shakespeare's plays, meant to be performed in 97 minutes, by three actors. Fast paced, witty, and physical, it's full of laughter for Shakespeare lovers and haters alike. The latest REVISED AGAIN version includes changes that celebrate and encourage greater diversity and inclusivity in today's theater!

Auditions: March 2026

Trapped in a secret, silent world, unable to communicate, young Helen Keller is violent and spoiled, treated by her family as subhuman. Only Annie Sullivan sees a mind and spirit waiting to be rescued from Helen's dark, tortured silence.

After scenes of intense physical and emotional struggle, Helen's breakthrough finally arrives with the utterance of a single, glorious word: "Water."

Auditions: April 2026

The Cat In The Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a spec of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child. Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.

Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.
