Director Técnico (a tiempo parcial)
Buscamos al "MacGyver" técnico de nuestro teatro. El perfil ideal se caracteriza por su pasión por el teatro en vivo, un liderazgo equilibrado, una creatividad excepcional, un sentido de la calidad propio de Broadway, una gran capacidad para resolver problemas y un estricto cumplimiento de plazos. Nuestra misión es brindar la mejor experiencia posible al público. El Director Técnico liderará la supervisión, el diseño, la construcción y la implementación de todos los elementos de la producción teatral de Stageworks (iluminación, sonido y escenografía).
Este puesto puede ser desempeñado por alguien que tenga otro trabajo a tiempo completo, siempre y cuando cumpla con sus responsabilidades y el otro trabajo no entre en conflicto importante con los plazos de entrega, etc.

Responsibilities
-
Oversees and implements the company’s production elements, including build, paint, lighting, sound, props, maintenance, and strike under specific deadlines.

Works with Artistic Director to determine the necessary technical support required for events and performances.

Advises Artistic Director on the technical specifications, costs and usage of technical equipment required for productions.

Designs, leads and assists with set and stage design, construction and management.

Ensures completion delivery of all scenic elements within the designated time-period.

Recruits, manages, and cultivates a team of stage managers, lighting and sound technicians and stage-hand crew, including both paid and volunteer resources.

Assists with the preparation of and manage technical operation budgets.

Purchases, leases and/or borrows equipment as needed.

Makes recommendations regarding capital purchases of technical equipment.

Ensures that invoices for payment and/or receipts for disbursement, with respect to authorized expenditures, are promptly submitted.

Monitors the condition of technical equipment and arranges for the repair and replacement; performs preventive maintenance on equipment.

Manages the workshop, including determining necessary supplies, organization, and facility safety and maintenance.

Develops, implements, and monitors policies to ensure a safe work environment in the backstage and stage areas.

Serves as building supervisor after normal hours of operation, or during assigned productions.

In conjunction with the Artistic Director, develops and manages the annual production calendar detailing all rehearsals, materials acquisition, set builds, tech week, strike, and all other related production tasks.

Oversees management of all load-ins, strike and return of borrowed items.

Develops and maintains relationships with local designers, builders, & colleges with technical training programs.

Provides an annual technical inventory of all equipment with recommendations for replacement, or refurbishment.

Stays abreast of new technology and software relative to lighting and audio engineering.

Conducts periodic workshops and classes regarding technical skills, in conjunction with our Education Director.

Additional duties as assigned by the Artistic Director.
Qualifications

Minimum of five years’ technical theatre experience, preferably with a nonprofit theatre.

Elegant carpentry experience and a repurposing DNA.

Extensive working knowledge of carpentry and theatrical equipment, design tools and software.

Proven track record of embracing modern technology to assist in increased artistic value and efficiency.

Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.

Multi-tasking maniac – able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks in a timely manner.

Demonstrated experience meeting deadlines with mixed sets of paid and volunteer resources

Physical ability to lift 50lbs and work at heights

Must have driver’s license and clean driving record.

Expert-level communication abilities and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to perform collaboratively in a small, team environment, while working independently with a high tolerance of ambiguity.

Reports to: Artistic Director
Hours: Flexible. The commitment is to deliver year-round theatrical productions.
Comp: Part-time contract pay, up to $38,000 annually, depending on experience and skills. There are additional earning opportunities available in the theatre.
