Teonna Murphy Polk (she/her) is a musical director, voice teacher, and performer turned music educator from Houston, Texas. She graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a minor in Theatre. After graduation she moved back home to pursue a performance career.  

 

Although she loved her time on the stage and in the spotlight, it quickly became apparent that teaching was tugging at her heart. During her time performing for the Stageworks production of A Christmas Carol, Teonna began working as a music director for the Stageworks Acting Academy. A few of her favorite Academy productions are Frozen Jr., Annie Jr., Willy Wonka Jr. and Into the Woods Teens.  

 

When she isn’t teaching, she enjoys painting, reading, singing with the Voices of Houston and spending time with friends and family.
