Stageworks Will Stay The Course for Safety

Stageworks Theatre uses masks

Governor Greg Abbott issued a directive lifting the mask mandate and restoring Texas businesses to 100 percent capacity starting next Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Naturally, this is a decision that has led to questions from you, and we’d like to take this moment to assure you of Stageworks’ ongoing safety plan in this time of Covid.

All existing protocols will continue to be observed and mandated by us for our audiences, students, actors, and crews. As events unfold, we will make relevant decisions accordingly, and you will be the first to know of any changes to our protocols and processes here at Stageworks.

If you’ve managed to catch one of the four productions we’ve mounted since Covid first made its impact known, you know firsthand how important your safety, security, and comfort are to us, whether you’re an audience member, actor, or crew member. Every audition, rehearsal, performance, and event has had your well-being forefront in our minds. Our protocols have included:

  • Social distancing of all audiences, whether in the lobby, auditorium, or classroom

  • Temperature checks of all audiences and personnel when the rate of transmission in the area is > 1.0

  • Full masking for all actors and crews during rehearsals, and full face-shield protocols for all actors during performances

  • Mandating full mask usage by audience members while inside the theatre

  • Full disinfecting of the lobby, auditorium, common areas, dressing rooms, and rehearsal spaces before and after each relevant event

  • Stageworks also partnered with Raus Restoration Services to provide quarterly hospital-grade disinfection to help reduce and control the spread of microorganisms such as COVID-19. This service, according to Raus, “kills 99.999 percent of all viruses (including COVID-19), bacteria, microbials, mold and mildew, and it protects up to 90 days after treatment.”

  • Lockdown, quarantine, and contact-tracing for any suspected Covid exposure events

  • Additionally, Stageworks installed the REME HALO In-Duct Air Purifying System to our AC system. This is identical to systems used in hospitals to make sure that air is circulated to remove 99 percent of any harmful contaminants in the air.

Thanks for navigating these times with us. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Michael Montgomery at artisticdirector@stageworkstx.org.
