Skills Training
Classes available for ages 5 - 18

Saturdays at Stageworks are Skills Days where we work on the the skills needed to be successful in theatrical productions. Classes are available for various disciplines and conveniently scheduled so that a student can participate in multiple classes.

Session 1:  January 20 - March 6 (7 weeks)

Session 2:  March 23 - May 4 (7 weeks)

Students need not have attended Session 1 to attend Session 2.

Theatre Beginnings

(Ages 5 - 7)

Students will learn the basics of theatre and storytelling through dramatic play and creative drama – a method of theatre education that focuses on improvisation. Combined with familiar characters from literature, theatre and film, this class encourages creativity, self-expression, communication and confidence.

Session One

Theme – Little Orphan Annie

Saturdays, 9:15am – 10am, January 20 – March 2 (7 weeks)

Tuition: $120+ $35 one time/student/semester registration fee

Theatre Fundamentals

(Ages 8-11)

Each session of this class reviews stage directions, terminology, and gives students the opportunity to put these terms to use in an informal showcase on the last day of class. This creative acting class is designed to be taken again and again. After all, practice makes perfect and each session has a different theme!

Session Two

Theme – The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Saturdays, 10:30am – 11:30am, March 23 – May 4 (7 weeks)

Tuition: $135+ $35 one time/student/semester registration fee

Theme – The Adventures of Flat Stanley

Saturdays, 9:15am – 10am, March 23 – May 4 (7 weeks) 

Tuition: $120+ $35 one time/student/semester registration fee

Acting Intensive

(Ages 10-16)

This intermediate to advanced class teaches vocal and movement skills and gives students the opportunity to work with challenging material. Each session focuses on the skills of expression, articulation of ideas, and one’s approach to character development.

Saturdays, 12pm-1:15pm, January 20 – March 2 (7 weeks)

Tuition: $145+ $35 one time/student/semester registration fee
