Patrick Barton, President
Patrick Barton divides his time between his day job as a Professor of Speech Communication at Lone Star College-CyFair educating the great minds of tomorrow and working with the Stageworks Board of Directors to create high calibre theatrical and educational opportunities for the Northwest Houston community.
Patrick has been an actor since his sophomore year of high school. He first joined Stageworks in 2011 as an actor in the World Premiere of Rob Urbinati's Death by Design, directed by Lisa Garza. Since then, he has appeared in more than 20 productions at Stageworks. His favorite roles have been Stage Manager in Our Town and Man in Chair in The Drowsy Chaperone.
In 2016 he joined the Board as an at-large member and audition coordinator, and in 2018 stepped up to the position of Vice President, and assumed the Presidency in January of 2020. Patrick is truly honored to serve with such a talented and dedicated group of professionals, and looks forward to working with the Board to bring Stageworks to new heights in the years to come.
Patrick also has a passion for public speaking, sharing his message of choice, caring and compassion. You can check out Patrick's TEDx talk, "Breaking the Bank" on YouTube.
