Joseph Urick - Director

Joseph Urick is an Equity Actor based in Houston, Texas. He has performed nationally and internationally, for theatres in Off-Broadway, New York, Texas, Florida, and Greece. Joseph holds an MFA in Acting from the University of Florida, and is a Faculty Lead for Drama at Lone Star College – CyFair. Joseph serves on the Board of Texas Light Opera and ARIA Creative Productions, and has been one of their longest tenured Educators and Artists-in-Residence. Joseph is also an award-winning Graphics Designer and Playwright, both of which have received awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Joseph is an Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors, and has produced staged violence for over sixty shows around the country, and has also used his experience with combat and self-defense various law enforcement agencies, including various Domestic Violence Awareness Training Programs, and an Emmy Award nominated Active Shooter Safety Video "Run, Hide, Fight!" Joseph has also worked as Producer for several acclaimed productions around the country, including the regional premiers of "ROOMS: a rock romance," "Edgar Allan Poe’s NEVERMORE," "Quills," "RACE," and a small professional tour of "The Last 5 Years."
