Health and Safety at Stageworks

Stageworks Theatre is committed to keeping our patrons, students, teachers, volunteers, and staff safe. And, to ensure your experience is safe and you are comfortable during your time at Stageworks Theatre, we have implemented several COVID-19 health and safety protocols. This page only provides a general overview, to provide a sense of how serious we will take safety.

General
  • Everyone must wear a face mask to enter all Stageworks Theatre spaces.

  • Everyone must practice social distancing guidelines during their time in the theatre facility maintaining at least a 6 foot distance from one another.

  • Entrance and exits are one way at Stageworks main facility (the Garza and Fischer stages).  The main lobby area is the entrance to the facility and the hallway leading to the Garza is designated the exit.

  • Hand sanitizing stations are found throughout the theatre. Please use them.

  • Plexi guards are in place at our concession and box office areas.

  • Adhere to the social distancing floor markers  in the box office and concession areas.

  • Stageworks Theatre staff will perform frequent cleaning before, during, and after every show.

  • We have partnered with Raus Restoration Services to regularly provide a highly efficient and effective disinfection program to help reduce and control the spread of microorganisms. Read about the products and provider below.

Patrons

  • We now offer at-home printing of tickets, to avoid tickets being handled.

  • We now offer our programs via a scannable code so that you can view it on your electronic device.

  • We are not allowing groups of greater than 10 to purchase tickets that sit together.

  • We are currently limiting our seating capacity to no more than 50% of capacity. Seating inside the theatre will be every other row with two seats empty between parties.

  • Patrons will be promptly taken to their seats to eliminate congestion in our lobby, and will be assigned an "entrance" time.

  • We will extend intermissions, as needed, to prevent congestion.

  • If you are feeling ill, we ask that you please stay home. We will make arrangements for you to see a show at another time and you will not incur a penalty, if you let us know prior to the show.

Artists/Students/Production Teams

All casts, students, teachers and production teams will receive our full Health and Safety Pandemic Operations Guide, and will be asked to sign an acknowledgement of and intention to adhere to the protocols. Here are some highlights.

  • Adhere to all guidelines listed above in the "General" section.

  • We have created robust "Stay at Home" and when to "Return to Theatre" guidelines, in the event that you, a family member/roommate, or cast mate has symptoms or has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

  • Self Health Check. Everyone involved in Stageworks operations and productions including actors, staff, volunteers, designers, technical support, Board members, etc. must administer a symptom check daily including a self-temperature check before coming onsite.

  • Self Identify. It is an individual’s responsibility to self identify any symptoms they are experiencing and follow the protocols discussed in 2 above. Protocols are available for review and discussed in the first meeting/rehearsal of all productions.  By coming onsite to the Stageworks facilities, you are attesting to being free of any symptoms and assumed to have conducted a self health check.

  • Individual Contact Responsibility. While involved in Stageworks productions, individuals are responsible for being aware of those they have sustained in-person direct contact with (defined as 15 minutes or more of interaction within six feet proximity of each other regardless of PPE usage) through the course of their day inside the Stageworks facility OR in personal/ professional life outside Stageworks activities.  Individuals are required to notate any individuals they’ve had contact with on a daily basis in the case contact tracing is required.

  • No visitors will be allowed inside the Stageworks facility unless invited in advance, and doors will remain regularly locked. Please be prepared to contact Directors, Stage Managers and Stageworks Representatives by phone/text to enter the facility.

  • Continuous Safety and Hygiene - We will ask those in rehearsals to do the following:

    • Wash/sanitize hands prior to entering a Stageworks facility .

    • Wash hands for 20 seconds or more with soap and water every 30 minutes.

    • Sanitize hands with an alcohol based sanitizer after using any tools, equipment of any kind, props, opening/closing doors, in/out of restrooms, entry/exit from the facility.

    • No sharing food and beverages.

    • Do not share tools, equipment, pens/pencils, scripts, notebooks, etc.

  • During performances, actors will wear masks backstage, until it's time to enter the stage.

The novel Coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and an inherent risk in all public locations where people are present. The CDC advises that older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. People who show no symptoms can spread Coronavirus if they are infected, any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to COVID-19. Patrons should evaluate their own risk in determining whether or not to attend an event at Stageworks Theatre.

Stageworks Theatre has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, we cannot guarantee that you and your guests will not become infected with COVID-19. By attending Stageworks Theatre, you and your guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure of COVID-10 and agree not to hold Stageworks Theatre, or any of its affiliates, employees, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury.
