Marketing Manager

Looking for some side-hustle?  As we come back from Covid, we are hiring a part-time Marketing Manager to ensure that Stageworks Theatre is vibrantly and effectively promoting shows, seasons, classes, community mission and other theatre happenings in the community.

This is a 7-10 hour a week contract (1099) role that will be paid via a monthly stipend.


On a weekly basis, curate theatre “topics” to be promoted to our audience and community, in close coordination with Artistic Directors.  Additionally, lead the efforts to monitor, drive and analyze effectiveness and engagement statistics and make recommendations on all marketing efforts and activities in order to achieve maximum returns. 


Social Media

  • Promote our topics on Facebook, Instagram, and any other designated relevant platforms as a premiere live theatre and performance academy destination.

  • Daily upkeep of our social media presence on platforms not as commonly used, such as Twitter and LinkedIn and any emergent technologies

  • Build engagement growth with our patrons, parents, volunteers, corporate sponsors, community leaders and staff.


Email Strategy

Create and execute email campaigns for:

  • Fundraising

  • Ticket sales

  • Season subscriptions

  • Class enrollment

  • Auditions

  • Volunteer opportunities



  • Work with our available authors internally to publish at least 2 blog entries/month

  • Ensure quality of articles for publish 

  • Publish blogs to the website

  • Design and manage new content including interviews, etc.


Press Releases

  • Cultivate list of relevant press connections

  • Create press release strategy

  • Write and distribute press releases for release



  • Serve as our “in-house” reporter – finding news about the hallways!

  • Playbill layout




This position will be self-directed and must be able to stay motivated and focused and strong enough to ask for what is needed. The people to whom you’ll report are volunteers and are not always available.


  • We’re looking for a natural and proven writer.

  • Experience with Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, and image sizing

  • Photography skills a plus

  • Experience of any kind in a theatre setting  understanding of vernacular and how things are described.

  • 1+ year experience promoting a business on social media

  • Experience managing various types of audiences
