Committee Volunteering

Do you have limited time, but special skills you'd be willing to contribute to Stageworks?  Committee volunteers provide professional, focused support to the board of directors, volunteering approximately 10 hours/month.  

COMMITTEE MEMBERS SHOULD BE/HAVE:

  • Willing and able to make asks on organization’s behalf (ambassadors).

  • Honesty, integrity and respect for others.

  • Visionary: future orientation.

  • Good communications skills; open-minded and articulate.

  • Strong team-builder and team member.

  • Leadership skills.

  • Self-confident and outgoing personality.

COMMITTEE NEEDS


We are currently seeking volunteers to work on the following three committees for the 2022-2023 term.

DEVELOPMENT

We are looking for members who:

  • Can communicate effectively and enthusiastically about the organization’s mission.

  • Have community connections and networks.

  • Have good people skills and engaging personalities.

  • Are comfortable talking about money and finances with others.

  • Have access to individual, corporate, or foundation resources.

  • Radiate confidence and trust.

  • Have fundraising and/or marketing experience.​

​FINANCE

The finance committee looks for experience with the following:

  • Budgeting

  • Real estate

  • Investments

  • Operating a business

  • Banking

  • Accounting, specifically knowledge of nonprofit accounting and GAAP (generally accepted accounting practices)

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

Our committee is looking for:

  • Direct experience developing and implementing marketing strategy.

  • Experience with development of branding strategies.

  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, messaging, persona development, PR, brand awareness - graphic design expertise is a bonus.

  • Demonstrated interest is the non-profit/social responsibility sector.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Solid professional reputation.

 

Estimated time commitment and responsibilities:
  • Attend 12 monthly committee meetings per year (some may be virtual calls and one may be our holiday party!)

  • Participation in events, attending at least one show or program per quarter.

  • Estimated time commitment: 5-10 hours/ month

  • Recruit new committee members over time

  • Other items as defined by the committee

  • Term:  2 Year Commitment
