Alice @ Wonderland

Ages 6-13

Performing on the Garza Mainstage May 21-23

This class is for the beginner actor, age 6-13 who is looking for an opportunity to learn some acting skills, while enjoying the journey of putting on a show.  You'll meet for 3 hours/week and participate in acting exercises, get assigned a role in the show, and rehears for the shows in May!

What would happen if a 21st century Alice collided with Lewis Carroll’s legendary Wonderland?  This modern retelling of the classic children’s story has all of the characters you know and love, including the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, and the Queen of Hearts.  The story is laid out in traditional style, except that Alice is distinctly contemporary, complete with cell phone in hand.  Full of references to text messaging and social media, the play imagines a present-day Alice encountering the Wonderland so many of us treasure.  A sharply told, crisply paced ride, this quality adaptation has been praised for its humor and modern style.

Parts can be played by any gender and for health and safety reasons, class size is small, limit 15.

This is a non-musical production.

This show will perform on the Garza Mainstage.

In this show, most parts can be played by any gender. No classes will be held on March 15 or 17, 2021 for Spring Break.  Select one of the class sessions below.  Wonderland or Alice classes meet on different days and have different performance times - so it will be two different sets of kids/classes putting on the same show.
